Is or isn't food for sharing?
Had a good lunch with BLISS and DLL
yesterday. The conversation turned to whether or not food is for
sharing. Democratically, apparently not. I was out-voted two to one.
Those two cave-dwellers want to ringfence what they've ordered
(preferably, it seems, with razor wire, searchlights and armed
guards) for their own consumption only.
Not for them ordering a wide selection
and sampling loss of different dishes. Their food is their own.
I can understand not wanting to share,
if it was never agreed that there would be shared interest in the
dishes before ordering. I much prefer small servings of loads of
dishes filling the table and being able to grab a bit of each.
Seven Psychopaths
Funny. Dark. Black, even. But
relentlessly funny. Tom Waits is great as Zak. Gun in one hand,
rabbit cradled in the other. Woody Harrelson is magnificently berserk
as the underworld crime lord on a rampage after his missing, presumed
kidnapped, dog.
The funniest line is probably
Chrostopher Walken's, though...
True Romance
...which we think may be sampled: “put
your hands up” “no” “but I've got a gun” “so?”.
That somehow got us onto True Romance,
hopefully we'll watch that tonight. I think it went something like:
What else has Walken been in, The Deer
Hunter, and True Romance. He's got a fantastic line in there. He's
chasing his money and drugs and visits the dad of the suspected
thief. Played by the bloke who's...er...have you seen Speed?
With...er...who's the guy in The Matrix and Bill and Ted? Keanu
Reeves. That's him. Anyway, the dad, who's the photographer at the
end of Apocalypse now. Denis Hopper! That's him. Denis Hopper says “I
don't know where he is, and I wouldn't tell you if I did. Torture me
all you want” and Walken says “torture, that's a good idea”.
Sampled by The Fun Lovin' Criminals at
the start of Scoobie Snacks. That's where DLL knew it from.
Filing day
It's computer file shifting and tidying
day. Boring. Christmas quiz compilation starts today, as well. Takes
a lot of time, the quiz. More year by year as everyone seems to want
money or wants you to download apps, not just questions.
Doobie Brothers
The Captain and Me. Perfect Sunday
music. A good answer soon when What's Your Jam starts nagging for a
new jam.
