I'm not sure where or how I can across this. Usually, I have just three sources: MM (rare, nowadays, sadly), Pitchfork and the NME. A reminder of just how great acoustic guitar and voice, with the occasional burst from the plugged-in guys over there can be.
Why three sources?
I depend on those sources because I really can't stand music radio. Generally, 99% is straight into the 'forget it' bin. There's no way I can tolerate plastic lads playing what their playlist bosses tell them to (Radio 1 / 2 and most local stations). I wouldn't last two minutes of Heart or nonsense like that before losing the will to live, expiring via blood loss through the ears.
I have to admit to regularly hitting the 'Play CD' button in the car when Radio 4 or 5 start talking about come dancing or bake-offs and the like. If I wany to hear that rubbish I'll stand at any bus stop, sit on any train, or have three-quarters of the brain I have remaining amputated and sit watching Retard TV.
I need to begin exploring the niche areas of Internet radio, which is an overdue exercise.
Why Scotland should vote yes...
...because there's many a true word spoken in jest:
The arguments to stay in the UK, and, sadly, they'll prevail, are underpinned by fleeting, man-made nonsense. They are social, economic, political, put forward by the superficially sensible and rational folk.
It's odd, isn't it, to hear the guys who brought you the global economic meltdown going on about 'dire economic consequences'.
However, all the social, economic and other stuff will disappear in a puff of smoke, soonish, when we bugger up the planet we've been given. So you may as well go with the heart or the gut. Those (usually more reliable) organs, unless you're a shop window dummy or a new labour clone, must tell you to give Westminster a giant two finger salute and go it alone.
