Thank god for the T20 quarter finals
The third test (heh, heh) ended in a
rain-affected draw (tee-hee) with Australia in a good position
(starts laughing uncontrollably – eventually regains composure, or
some composure, anyway) and so the match ended and England retained
the Ashes (sorry, that's setting me off again). It ended on Monday.
The next test does not start until
Friday.
That's...er...way too long to wait.
Luckily, some clever programming has the T20 quarter finals played on
the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings between the third and
fourth test matches.
BLISS-full Aussie-bashing
BLISS: So we've won the Ashes?
ME: Yeah. Retained them, anyway.
BLISS: Eh?
Insert your own version of the
best-of-five, drawn series means whoever has them, keeps them
explanation here.
BLISS: [In all BLISS-full innocence] so
will they bother to play the other two games.
ME: [Nonplussed, slowly realising just
what a comic genius she is] er...er...yeah. There's [looking for a
good enough reason] people with tickets and everything.
There's some ready-made sledging there.
Greeting the new Aussie batsman:
[Yawning, rubbing eyes] “don't see
the point, really”.
“Me neither”
“We're only playing because their
plane home isn't booked yet”
“D'ya wanna bowl?”
“Nah, mate. Can't be arsed”
“Me neither, oy! Cookie! Wanna bowl
mate? We can't be arsed”
Harry Potter world...
...it seems Hogwarts is in Watford.
Wouldn't've guessed it was there, would you?
